Vocation Discernment

Vocation Discernment is a journey of discovering God’s plan for your life. It invites young people to reflect, pray, and understand their talents, passions, and purpose in a deeper way.

Through guidance, retreats, and personal mentoring, youth are encouraged to listen to God’s call and respond with courage—whether in priesthood, religious life, or dedicated service—choosing a path that brings meaning, joy, and fulfillment.

Pray

Sit in silence. Quiet your heart and open your mind to God’s gentle whisper. Do you sense His call? Do you feel a deep desire to be part of His plan and to live according to His will?

Self Reflection

Ask yourself: How deep is my faith? Do I have a heart to serve others? Am I physically and mentally ready for the commitment of religious life? Can I relate and live harmoniously with people from diverse cultures?

Think of Your Talents and Skills

Can your gifts serve others? Can they respond to the needs of the Church? By sharing them,
can you help make the lives of God’s
people better?

Talk with People You Trust

Sometimes God talks to us through our friends and family members. How often have you talked with someone and they offer a thought or insight that never occurred to you before?

Seek Spiritual Direction

Seek spiritual direction from someone who is qualified, such as a priest, brother or sister, to help you
on your spiritual journey exploring
God’s presence in your life.

Discernment

Discernment is a lifelong journey of deepening our relationship with the Lord. Through sincere prayer, reflection, and trust in God, it guides us step by step to understand and faithfully respond to His will.
