St. Francis de Sales Secondary School, Mawryngkneng, was formerly known as RCLP School, Mawnang–Mawryngkneng. The school traces its origins to 1966, when it was started by Fr. Usai SDB. Later, Fr. Michael Balawan SDB upgraded it to an Upper Primary School in 1974 and continued to encourage students through his regular visits.
When the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales (MSFS) took over the mission in 2003, the institution was renamed and upgraded to Class X, marking a new phase in its development. In 2014, the school received affiliation from the Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education (MBOSE).
Today, the school serves around 320 students with the support of 17 teaching staff, including two Salvatorian Sisters, continuing its commitment to providing quality education and holistic formation to the students of the region.
