In an age shaped by rapid technological advancement, the challenge before the Church is to use media creatively and engage it critically for the building of a better world. Recognizing the vital role of communication in evangelization, the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales – North East India Province established its Communication Ministry in 2005 under Fransalian Communications.

Over the years, this ministry has significantly strengthened pastoral outreach and evangelization efforts. It has reached countless individuals through media training courses, teachers’ training programmes, videography and photography workshops, and other skill-development initiatives. The ministry has also produced several meaningful videos and documentaries, including “Hand on Heart”, a documentary highlighting the life and mission of the Province.

During the pandemic, Fransalian Communications played a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of spiritual life by facilitating online transmission of Holy Mass, recollections, and annual retreats — bringing faith and hope directly into people’s homes.

To further enhance its outreach, the Province has established a well-equipped media studio with facilities for voice recording, still photography, editing suites, a preview theatre, and a stock room.

Today, the Media Ministry stands as a powerful instrument of evangelization — harnessing modern communication tools to proclaim the Gospel with creativity, clarity, and conviction.
