St. Francis de Sales School, Narengi, was established in 1998 and initially functioned in a former Coca-Cola factory building, which led to its popular nickname, “Coca Cola School.” The school began with 72 students in Class I and three teachers, and the present school building was completed in 2006.
Guided by the values of gentleness, loving kindness, patience, and persuasion, the school grew steadily and received official permission to open Class VIII in 2005. In 2008, it obtained CBSE affiliation and Minority Institution status, and in 2012 it was upgraded to a Higher Secondary School, offering Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams.
Today, the school has over 1600 students, 70 teaching staff, and 20 non-teaching staff, supported by modern infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, computer labs, sports facilities, and a Wi-Fi-enabled campus. Known for its quality education and holistic formation, the school also hosts the annual SFS Challenger’s Basketball Trophy, attracting participation from many schools across Assam.
Through academic excellence, co-curricular activities, and value-based education, the institution strives to form students who are responsible citizens, committed to social harmony, national integration, and universal brotherhood.
