Holy Redeemer Renewal Centre Tura

In June 2015, a piece of land measuring 12 bighas (approximately 4 acres) was purchased in Tura with the vision of establishing another Renewal Centre.

The land belonged to Mr. Hubert and Mrs. Maria, members of the prayer group of HRRC, Umroi, and close friends and benefactors of late Fr. Chacko Varapadavil.

Fr. Saji Kaippallil, who was appointed as the Director of the Centre, began residing in Tura on September 21, 2015, in a rented house located in the Lower Danakgre area.

The foundation stone for the priests’ residence was blessed and laid on June 21, 2016, at the new site.

Later, on September 19, 2016, at 3:00 PM, Fr. George Panthanmackel, the former Provincial of the Northeast India Province, inaugurated the newly built residence for the priests. The house was blessed by Most Rev. Andrew Marak, Bishop of Tura, in the presence of many priests, religious sisters, and lay collaborators.

The first retreat programme at the new centre began on October 7, 2016.

Since 2016, the schedule for the One-Day Conventions was fixed on every second Saturday of the month. Priests from HRRC, Umroi, assist regularly in these conventions. In addition, several diocesan priests support the ministry by serving as confessors and celebrants of the Holy Mass.

The centre also conducts a One-Day Charismatic Convention at St. Francis de Sales Church, Nongalbibra, on every fifth Saturday of the month.
